Captainšs Message
The 2001 Tennis season is in full swing. The Ladies 5th and 6th Winter
League Teams have qualified for the playoffs - watch the notice board for the
scheduling of these matches.
156 players are presently battling their way through 36 matches in an effort to
reach the finals which are scheduled for 31st March.
Summer Leagues com-mence on 12th May and run for approx. 6 weeks. All those
interested in participating please enter your names on the lists on the notice
board. Juniors 14 years and over are most welcome to challenge for places on
these teams.
Both the Club Cham-pionships in July and the handicaps in September have been
shortened to 2 weeks. The shorter timescale will we hope create a better
atmosphere in the Club and also eliminate the problems with rescheduling
matches.
We hope to start the ladder shortly for Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. If
we get sufficient numbers we intend to start the ladders early April.
Finally, if you have any suggestions or concerns please talk to any member of
the Tennis Committee.
