Health Services
To continue the fight to retain and upgrade the County Hospital Roscommon and to ensure that the New Accident and Emergency Unit is fully staffed.
General Health Services
This to include the provision of additional beds at Áras Mhathair Pol and better service provision at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Roscommon for the Elderly. To extend the Home Help Services to provide better care for the elderly in their own homes.
Castlerea Swimming Pool
Having secured €180,000 for the upgrading of Castlerea Swimming Pool for the provision of dressing rooms and shower facilities, I intend to continue my negotiations with Roscommon County Council and Oireachtas Members for further funding to provide services at the pool for 12 months of the year.
Roads Infrastructure
To continue to lobby Roscommon County Council and the National Roads Authority for the upgrading of Primary and Secondary Roads in West Roscommon, and also for the removal of dangerous bends.
Public Lighting and Footpaths
To maintain and continually upgrade our public lighting and footpaths in the Castlerea Electoral Area.
Industry in Castlerea
While industry has improved over the past five years bringing much needed employment to the area we must continue to pressure the various Government Departments for further Industries.
Communications
In order to attract further investment in Industry it is important to fast track the rollout of the Broadband Network to the area.
E.S.B./ Telephone
All E.S.B./ Telephone systems currently overhead to be placed underground.
Waste Disposal and Recycling
To ensure that a civic centre for the purpose of recycling is placed as a matter of urgency in the town of Castlerea in order to reduce waste household costs for refuse.
Planning Regulations
I fully support people building on their own land but do not agree with the Government’s implementations of the Service Charges.
Transport
That Public Transport should be more available in rural areas throughout West Roscommon.
