Vision Statement:

"The Westside Community Development Resource Centre's management committee is a coordinating group working with others in the Westside. Our aims are to listen to, respond and facilitate the development of individuals and groups in our community in an open and welcoming way. We believe in and take pride in our community and its development."

Background
The Westside Community Development Resource Centre was set up in 1992 with funding from the Dept. of Community, Rural and Gealtracht Affairs under its Community Development Programme. It is managed by a voluntary management committee representing local groups and interests.


It is the Aim of WCDRC Ltd.:
1. To promote the development of the Westside in accordance with community development principles and methods.

2. To involve local people in the design and implementation of the programme, which will cater for some of the effects of disadvantage.

3. To identify and attempt to bring about needed change in the existing policies, structures, services and attitudes as they effect the lives of people of Westside.

4. To create a greater awareness of the nature, extent and causes of poverty in the area.


It is the Objective of WCDRC Ltd.:
1. To support community groups and individuals in the area and to encourage coordination and communication.

2. To encourage and enable people throughout the community to become involved according to their needs and interests.

3. To set up new initiatives in meeting gaps between existing provisions and the needs of the community.
