SUMMARY OF 2010
We come once again to the
end of another year at Kennel Erinderry.
It was a very quiet year
for us show wise and also we had some very sad times during 2010.
In January I fell and broke
my shoulder so was unable to do very much with the girls for quite a few months
by which time their seasons had come and gone. Then they all decided it
was time for a new wardrobe, so it was off with the old fashioned coat and
eventually in with the new Autumn collection!! which was of course too late in
Ireland for very much showing.
Of the very few shows we did
manage to get to with:

Group 8 - 4th place,

CC's, he also won a lovely Veteran Dog Class at Crufts. We are very proud
of Seamus.

In April we had to say our
goodbyes to my once in a lifetime dog, my best buddy and matriarch of the
Kennel. It was very sudden and without giving us time to do anything.
It was a terrible shock for me as she was always very fit, a fantastic swimmer,
who taught all the young ones as they came along to swim. My strong and powerful
athletic Niamh was gone and I was devastated.
To my beautiful Niamh (International
Ch & Ir Sh
Ch Erinderry Firebird) we will always remember you with love & pride and Thank
You for giving us the most fantastic 13 yrs years together
In May, Sh Ch Erinderry
Gaelic Song, took ill and eventually after a lot of tests and medication she was
operated on. This operation saved her life and by July she was back to the
sweet, bouncy Aoife we all know, looking to go for her walks and eating well.
She has made a full recovery and is doing well ever since.
During June, Shannon became
seriously ill, and eventually early July she was diagnosed and had only a short
time left. We kept her comfortable and medicated and she managed until
early October.
My full of life, exuberant,
Shannon (Wheatcroft Daydreamer at Erinderry) was also gone and I was totally at
a loss.
To my beautiful Shannon, I
miss you on the beach, looking round the corner to see if I am nearly there for
your great swims and dives of the rocks. You were taken from us much too
early but you lived your life to the full, strong and active with a great love
for life. Sweet dreams my little friend we will always have the wonderful
memories.

On a much brighter note "
IZZY" (Dewmist Glitterissa) bounced into our lives at a time when it was much
needed. She brought new life and bags of personality to Erinderry, Molly
(Shannon's Daughter) was at a loss without her Mum and Izzy took great care of
that. She played all day with, Molly, Caoimhe & Connie who are now known
as the Mafia!!! She has settled in well and has become part of the team.
Beautiful in construction and most of all personality. A real pleasure to
have here. Our Thanks go to Mr Henric Fryckstrand (Dewmist) for letting
Izzy come to Ireland and a special Thanks to my friend, Mrs. Petra Tischner, for
taking care of Izzy during the months before her passport allowed her to travel
to here.
To finish off the year:
Champion Erinderry Gaelic Minstrel at the Stockholm Show, on 18th December won
the BOB Progeny Group with his children, bred by Mr. Henric Fryckstrand (Dewmist)
A fantastic achievement for Finn who has sired some wonderful dogs. Judge
was: Mr. Erling Kjaer Pedersen, Denmark.

" The sweetest of heads with kind feminine expression. Good
ear set, good forehand with tight fitting elbows. Straight level top line,
good ribs and bend of stifle. Strong hocks. No exaggeration in any
way. Once she settled, she became very stylish on the move."

It has come to the end of another year showing
our Golden Retrievers and although it was a much quieter year for us at
Erinderry owing to a combination of work / family commitments, all the girls
going out of coat in the middle of the show season and a few lovely and very
enjoyable judging appointments, we still managed to get to 11 of the Championship
Shows during 2009.
