Gleneven house is only a few minutes from the centre of Inniskeen. Inniskeen (Inis Caoin) is a gaelic name, from Celtic times.The name means the plesent island. The monestry which was built by saint Daig, is to-day only the remains of a strong roundtower. Iniskeen is the birthplace of the well known Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh.
