Smaller cable companies

The Irish cable TV industry is at end of a process of consolidation, which has left most franchises in the hands of NTL and Chorus. There do however remain a number of small cable TV licences, these only hold single franchises.

Casey Cablevision Limited - Dungarven, Co. Waterford.

Casey Cablevision is the only local operator to hold a Digital Television licence, and is also the only local operator to provide a cable modem service. Its analogue TV service is also one of the best in the country, providing nearly 30 channels as part of the basic TV service: Casey also holds a deflector licence for Dungarven.

If and when Casey introduces a Digital TV service during 2001, as required by its licence, full details will be posted here!

Other Local Delivery Operators:

The other local cable TV operators are licenced to provide only analogue television services. They may not offer digital TV, telephony, or internet services. These licences are fully and indefinitely exclusive. However in the long term, these licences may be terminated after analogue terrestrial switch-off.

If you can supply a channel list for any of these companies, please e-mail me icdg@oceanfree.net
