But launch causes News Active, Sports Active problems. Sky has unoffically launched the first phase of Sky Active Ireland, the new interactive services for customers in the Republic of Ireland. ROI viewers have been able to access some interactive services since Monday, according to reports on our forums. This first phase of the launch appears to cover some services previously available only in the UK, such as the Sky Gamestar service, and Yahoo! UK and Ireland email. However there are no reports of any of the promised dedicated ROI services coming on stream just yet, however it appears they will be launched in the next month or so, possibly in tandem with a full public launch of the service. The launch has not gone without its problems. Last week, viewers were left without access to Sky News Active for an evening while Sky switched the software over to the new ROI version - the red button on Sky News now takes you to Sky Active rather than directly to news Active. It now appears Sky Sports Active has been also (inadvertantly, it would seem) disabled. Sky it appears still has some issues to iron out...
