Rabbits 2010

The "Rabbits" is a weekly men's 9-hole competition for high handicappers (17 or over) who are members of Blainroe Golf club.

We play almost every Friday evening from the Spring to September, so at this stage the Rabbits the season is underway and already some of the buck rabbits are starting to assert themselves.

The "Rabbits" is all about participation - every time you play you get a shot back - unless you are in the top five.  The winner gets cut five, so the prizes get spread around.

There is no time-sheet - just turn up after 5 and before 7 p.m (actually 7 p.m. is a bit too late towards the end of the season), sign in, put your fee in an envelope and head for the tee.  You will always find someone to play with.  Try to play with different people each week - get to know other members - you've come to socialise!

Every year we have at least one away competition.  This year we had a (very wet) tour of Mount Wolesley (9th & 10th of July).  As the second day was cancelled, we are planning to go back there later in the year.  We also have a competition where our top scoring Rabbits play Wicklow's top Rabbits home and away in October.

To e-mail me, send the message to rabbits at eircom.net, but replace the "at" with "@" and leave out any blanks.

I have written my address like this in an attempt to reduce the amount of spam - hundreds of e-mails trying to sell me Viagra and give me loans (I don't need either right now, but I will accept cash with no strings attached).  I think some of the perpetrators have programs to automatically pick up e-mail addresses from web sites.
