Rabbits Rules....

RABBITS COMPETITION 2011

1. All the normal rules of golf apply to the RABBITS competitions.

2. Competitions are played off GREEN MARKERS - over the Front 9 (unless otherwise indicated).

3. ELIGIBILITY: Only those players whose playing handicaps were 17 or over on the 1st Jan 2011 (or on the date of joining the club - if subsequent to 1st Jan 2011) are eligible to play in the Rabbits.

4. RABBITS HANDICAPS: On a player's first Rabbits competition in 2011 his Rabbits handicap is the same as his current CLUB handicap. On each subsequent Rabbits competition played the Rabbits Handicap must be adjusted as in 5 below AND must also be adjusted to take account of changes in Club Handicap.

5. HANDICAP ADJUSTMENTS AND RABBITS G.O.Y. POINTS: Adjustments to handicaps and Rabbits Golfer Of the Year points are calculated as follows:

The MAXIMUM Rabbits Handicap obtainable is 32 unless rule 6 below applies.

6. Players over the age of 75 will receive an extra shot for each of the par fives.  This extra shot will be in addition to the shots they receive over the course of the competition.

7. Players who reach the top 10 in the Rabbits G.O.Y. as a result of rule 6 above will not be automatically eligible to play in the inter-club competition against Wicklow Rabbits.

8. PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN A 3-BALL: Arrival at Tee Box determines formation of 3 ball.   A 4-ball is permitted for the last group or at the chairman's discretion.

9. RABBITS GOLFER OF THE YEAR: The aggregate points obtained in a player's BEST 10 outings are counted for "Rabbits Golfer of the Year".  

10.ENTRANCE FEE for the Friday competition is €5 for Ordinary Members and €2 for Juniors.

11.TEE-OFF TIMES: The timesheet for the Rabbits Competition runs from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. (Extended to 7.30 p.m. for June, July and August)

12.RETURNING CARDS: Cards must be returned BEFORE 9.30 pm. If you are "playing on" please return your card after completing the 9th hole.

13.THE CAPTAIN'S PRIZE TO THE RABBITS is a Singles Stableford Competition - played off Green Markers over 18 Holes. CLUB HANDICAPS current at the time will apply for this competition. 

14.Only those players who have competed in at least 7 of the Friday competitions will be eligible to win any of the three top prizes.

15.A player must have played in at least 4 of the Friday competitions will be eligible to win any prize in the Captain's Prize to the Rabbits.

PLEASE WRITE CLEARLY IN BLOCK CAPITALS on the entry sheet - you'd be amazed at how much unnecessary work it makes for the people who have to decipher the scrawls. 

NOTE RE JUNIORS:
Juniors may play at the invitation and in the company of an adult member.  Juniors are not eligible to win the Captain's prize.
